Selecting the best Spanish restaurants in Dublin requires a thoughtful approach. Here’s what guides our choices:

  • The authenticity of Cuisine: We prioritize restaurants that offer genuine Spanish flavours, ensuring that the dishes reflect traditional cooking methods and ingredients reminiscent of Spain. It’s crucial for us to feel transported to Spain with every bite.
  • Ambience and Experience: The atmosphere of the restaurant plays a significant role. We look for places that encapsulate the warm, vibrant spirit of Spanish culture, making dining there an immersive experience beyond just the food.
  • Quality of Ingredients: The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients is non-negotiable. We value restaurants that source their products responsibly and emphasize the natural flavours central to Spanish cuisine.

Salamanca

☝️ Our reasons for recommending:

  • Lovely, simple dishes
  • Excellent service
  • Warm lighting & mirrors

First and foremost, Salamanca is truly a uniquely exquisite dining experience. From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we had ventured into a grand palace of culture and ambience. The decor features warm lighting cascading off of the large crystal mirrors that line the walls creating an unforgettable atmosphere. On top of this labyrinth of aesthetic appeal lies one more unfathomable treasure: magnificent service from their impeccably attentive staff who catered to our every need with courtesy and respect.

Amongst all these factors combine for a tapas experience unlike any other offered in Dublin, the food stands out as equally enjoyable and gourmet in quality – making it well worth its price tag. The seafood paella was bursting with flavor while I particularly enjoyed the calamari fritters which were light yet packed full of crispy texture. Even simpler dishes such as jamon croquetas or patatas bravas retained their traditional essence while still satisfying even our most discerning palates.. For those wishing to add some refreshment there’s also great red wine sangria selection available!

To sum up my time at Salamanca; lovely simple dishes coupled with excellent service made for an unforgettable eating adventure that I can’t recommend highly enough if you’re ever looking for somewhere special to dine in Dublin!

La Bodega Tapas

☝️ Our reasons for recommending:

  • Delicious Spanish cuisine
  • Great service & experience
  • Chill atmosphere/decor

I visited La Bodega Tapas in Dublin, and it is a place that I would definitely recommend. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, with an outdoor garden area where you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. The decor of the restaurant was chic but comfortable; it’s the perfect spot for both casual dinners as well as more formal gatherings. Furthermore, the service by waitstaff were impeccable- not only were they polite and welcoming but also knowledgeable about their menu items which made ordering easier!

The food at La Bodega Tapas was absolutely wonderful; They offer dishes from a variety of mexican cuisine such as tacos and ensaladas to Spanish favorites like paella. While I didn’t think that some spanish dishes here weren’t typically very sweet however I noted even fried goats cheese plate being surprisingly sweeth which added flavor to certain dishes!. Although its beer selection seems limited only in bottles nonetheless my friend still enjoyed their cider!

  • Affordable prices.

Casa Del Toro is truly an amazing place and worth the visit! The restaurant has a great location in Drumcondra, Dublin, perfect for a family gathering or out-of-towners to get the full Irish experience. The staff are very friendly and accommodating – Bibi and Caesar did an excellent job ensuring we had a special birthday meal experience. Prices are also fair for what you receive which includes six different tapas dishes, sodas, asparagus and more all made from fresh quality ingredients like grilled sea bass with chorizo – simply delicious! In addition to high quality Spanish food, patrons can enjoy some Madri pints or Rioja glasses of wine making this place highly enjoyable.

What makes the best Spanish restaurants in Dublin stand out?

For me, it’s all about the authenticity of the cuisine and the ambience that transports you straight to Spain. The best places offer a blend of traditional and modern dishes, from tapas to paella, cooked with passion and served in settings that reflect the warmth and vibrancy of Spanish culture. They’re the spots where every bite feels like a celebration of flavour.

How do I find authentic Spanish tapas in Dublin?

I look for restaurants that focus on the quality of ingredients and traditional cooking methods. The authentic places usually have a menu filled with a variety of tapas, including both well-known dishes and regional specialities from across Spain. It’s about the experience of sharing and enjoying small plates that pack a punch in terms of flavour.

Can you recommend a place for the best paella in Dublin?

Yes, there are a few spots that truly excel at making this iconic Spanish dish, but one that consistently impresses me is located in the heart of the city. They use quality saffron and stock, which are key to creating the perfect paella, rich in flavour and cooked just right to achieve that coveted socarrat at the bottom.

Are there any Spanish restaurants in Dublin that offer a good selection of vegetarian options?

Absolutely! Many of the top Spanish restaurants in Dublin have embraced the variety of Spain’s vegetable-based dishes. You’ll find an array of vegetarian tapas and main courses that are as meticulously prepared and flavorful as their meat-based counterparts, ensuring a delightful dining experience for vegetarians and vegans alike.

What should I look for in a Spanish dining experience in Dublin to ensure it’s authentic?

I always pay attention to the ambience, the menu, and the staff’s knowledge about the food they serve. An authentic Spanish dining experience should feel warm and welcoming, offer a variety of traditional dishes prepared with care, and be served by people who can share the story behind each dish.

How important is the wine selection at a Spanish restaurant in Dublin?

It’s quite important! Spain has a rich wine culture, and a good Spanish restaurant in Dublin should offer a selection that showcases the diversity of Spanish wines, from refreshing whites and rosés to robust reds. A knowledgeable staff can enhance the dining experience by recommending the perfect wine pairing for your meal.

Do the best Spanish restaurants in Dublin also serve good sangria?

Yes, they do! A great sangria is a hallmark of a good Spanish restaurant. The best places take pride in their sangria recipe, blending quality wine with the right mix of fruits and a touch of brandy or liqueur, creating a refreshing drink that complements the flavours of the food beautifully.
