☝️ How we rated the services below:

Welcome to our review of the Best Afternoon Tea in Dublin. When selecting the top establishments for this indulgent treat, we considered a range of criteria to ensure that only the finest options made it onto our list. Here are the key factors we took into account:

  • Ambience: We wanted to find places with a charming and elegant atmosphere where guests could relax and savour their afternoon tea experience. The ambience should reflect the traditional charm associated with this delightful affair.
  • Selection of teas: A crucial element of any excellent afternoon tea is an extensive menu offering a variety of high-quality teas. We sought out establishments that impressed us not only with their wide selection but also by showcasing unique blends and providing expert guidance on pairing them with food.
  • Presentation: Afternoon tea is as much about visual appeal as it is about taste. Thus, we looked for venues that presented their delicacies artfully, paying attention to detail and ensuring eye-catching displays that heightened anticipation before each bite.
  • Delicacies assortment: As connoisseurs ourselves, we insisted on options that showcase a diverse array of sweet and savoury treats. Our selected establishments needed to offer an exquisite balance between traditional favourites like freshly baked scones with homemade preserves and more innovative creations that tantalized our taste buds.
  • Fresh ingredients: To guarantee the quality, all ingredients used in creating these delectable delights had to be fresh and sourced from reputable suppliers known for their commitment to excellence in culinary produce.
  • Service standard: Exceptional service can greatly enhance any dining experience; therefore, it was imperative for us to select venues renowned for attentive staff who anticipate guests' needs without imposing themselves upon them – striking just the right balance between attentiveness and discretion.

The Cake Cafe

The Cake Cafe

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of The Cake Cafe:

The Cake Cafe…where do I even begin? Let me just say, this place is an absolute gem hidden behind a bookshop. As soon as you step through the back door of The Last Bookshop, you enter a magical oasis that is The Cake Cafe. Trust me, it's worth the hunt to find this delightful little breakfast spot.

Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by how happy and welcoming all the staff were. It felt like stepping into a tea party with friends. And let's not forget about the stunning garden area and the surprisingly luxurious bathroom – it puts my own apartment to shame!

Now, onto the food. Oh my goodness! The breakfast options are mouthwatering and don't even get me started on their cakes and baked goods. I couldn't resist indulging in some treats to take away – although I must admit that chocolate ganache cake didn't make it very far before being devoured.

But here comes a slight disappointment…unfortunately, during my recent visits, there has been some inconsistency with the food quality. The poached eggs were far from perfectly oozy; they practically crumbled like they had been boiled for ages. Thankfully though, when we brought this issue up with the staff at the end of our meal, they handled it graciously.

Nevertheless, despite these occasional hiccups in consistency, there are still plenty of reasons why The Cake Cafe is well worth your time and visit! From their attention to dietary restrictions (making sure allergens are listed clearly) to their unique pancake syrup that had so much better flavor than usual – every detail adds up to an unforgettable experience.

So mark my words: come spring or summer when you can sit outside in that charming alleyway sipping your coffee or enjoying a small piece of cake during afternoon tea…you'll be thanking yourself for finding such a delightful establishment like The Cake Cafe!

The Ivy Dublin

The Ivy Dublin

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of The Ivy Dublin:

The Ivy Dublin – a true dining gem in the heart of Dawson Street. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere was alive with chatter and laughter, blending seamlessly with the vibrant music that filled the air. As my eyes swept across the breathtaking interior design, every corner revealed a new delightful touch.

It was our first time experiencing their private dining area, known as the Jonathan Swift room, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Not only was the food superbly satisfying to our taste buds, but also visually pleasing to behold. The impeccable service provided by Olmo and Alisha elevated our evening to new heights; they were attentive without being intrusive and ensured that every need was met effortlessly.

I have dined at The Ivy Dublin numerous times before, and each visit continues to impress me. Unlike its counterpart in Edinburgh where service can be lacking and staff condescending, here you are greeted with genuine warmth from start to finish. The menu offers an array of delectable options that cater to various preferences while maintaining consistent quality.

Despite slight issues we encountered with drinks – such as a less-than-stellar cocktail and misleading information about fresh apple juice – these minor hiccups did not overshadow what turned out to be an exceptional experience overall.

In conclusion, if you're seeking a lively ambiance paired with delicious food and exemplary service that never fails to leave a lasting impression on your palate, then look no further than The Ivy Dublin. It may come at a slightly higher price point than some establishments, but trust me when I say it is worth every penny for an unforgettable culinary journey like no other. Don't forget to indulge in their renowned Afternoon Tea for an added dose of sophistication!

👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:

  • Great value set dinner menu for 27 euros
  • Impeccable service in private dining area

The Westbury

The Westbury

⭐ Our Genuine Review of The Westbury:

The Westbury… where do I even begin? This place is an absolute gem in the heart of Dublin. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was blown away by the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff, especially Miguel, went above and beyond to ensure that every need was catered to during my visit. And let me tell you about the champagne afternoon tea! It was a truly delightful experience with beautifully arranged tiers of delicious food and an impressive selection of teas to choose from. I highly recommend it!

But it doesn't end there. The Westbury is also our go-to spot for cocktails on special occasions, and we were lucky enough to be served by the charismatic Lee who not only made amazing drinks but also took the time to chat with us and make us feel like VIPs.

As if that wasn't enough, this hotel itself is stunningly beautiful. It's one of the best places my family and I have ever stayed at. The location couldn't be any better, within walking distance of all major attractions in Dublin. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast each morning which was well worth every penny.

I recently attended a charity lunch here as well, and once again, they exceeded my expectations with excellent service, mouth-watering food, and efficient yet friendly staff.

All in all, The Westbury is an unforgettable experience that should not be missed when visiting Dublin. Trust me when I say this place deserves every bit of praise it receives – it simply surpasses all expectations!

  • Awesome champagne afternoon tea experience!
  • Attentive service and attractive food presentation.

Bewley's Grafton Street

Bewley

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Bewley's Grafton Street:

Bewley's Grafton Street is a true gem in the heart of Dublin. From the moment I walked through its doors, it was clear that this place oozed luxury and sophistication. The interior is simply stunning, with every detail lovingly crafted to create an ambiance fit for royalty. I only wish I had taken pictures to capture its beauty.

My visit started with a delicious breakfast, and although there was no waiting time, the staff made me feel like a valued guest from the moment I arrived. They were genuinely warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.

While the coffee was good, it didn't quite reach the heights of some other places I've been to. The mocha had an overwhelming amount of chocolate in it, which may be great for chocoholics but left me craving a more balanced flavor profile.

The food itself was enjoyable; my partner and I both opted for avocado sourdough which satisfied our taste buds without being exceptional. However, what really impressed us was their attention to detail throughout each dish. Presentation truly matters here!

Aside from enjoying tasty treats and superb service upstairs, we stumbled upon a treat downstairs—an amazing view into their bakery's kitchen! It added another layer of excitement to our visit.

Overall though Bewley's Grafton Street falls slightly short on delivering an unforgettable experience as perceived by some aspects mentioned previously such as overly cold temperatures inside that detracted slightly from overall comfort levels enjoyed during visitation.

Nonetheless worth visiting when in Dublin especially should you enjoy Afternoon Tea or even merely crave indulging on decadent hot chocolate accompanied by delightful cakes.

👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:

  • No waiting time for breakfast
  • Friendly and attentive staff
  • Beautifully decorated interior and nice bathroom downstairs

Be Sweet Cafe

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Be Sweet Cafe:

Be Sweet Cafe, what a delightful little gem I stumbled upon on Clarendon Street! As soon as I stepped inside, the gorgeous decor caught my eye and beckoned me further. Even though I had already indulged in breakfast elsewhere, I couldn't resist the temptation of their tranquil coffee. The interior was like a beautiful peacock nestled within jungles, with every corner showcasing the owner's passion for creating an enchanting ambience that made me feel truly special.

The attention to detail in decorating this place is nothing short of fabulous. It exudes maximal luxury and is definitely Instagram-worthy. And let's not forget about the coffee – it was simply superb. There was something comforting about sipping on a Coconut Latte that hit just the right spot. Plus, who could resist those little complimentary chocolates? Such a lovely touch!

Now onto the treats – oh my goodness, they looked absolutely scrumptious! The pastries and cakes were almost too pretty to eat. However, I must confess that the slice of cake I had felt quite heavy to me personally. But hey, different strokes for different folks! One thing worth mentioning though is their Afternoon Tea option which promises to be an experience not to be missed.

The staff at Be Sweet Cafe are incredibly sweet and kind-hearted individuals who add even more warmth to this charming establishment. Although it may be small in size, you'll never feel stuck for choice with their wide selection of delectable treats on display.
