⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Maneki Japanese Cuisine & Karaoke Box:

Maneki Japanese Cuisine & Karaoke Box is a real treasure in the heart of Dublin. Located at 43 Dawson St, this vibrant spot offers an unparalleled dining experience. I recently visited with a group of friends on a Sunday without a booking, and we were swiftly accommodated despite the bustling atmosphere. The food? Simply divine! From the best Katsu Curry in town to the must-try Ruby Cheesecake dessert, every dish bursts with authentic flavours.

The restaurant’s layout, spread across different floors and rooms, ensures a cosy yet lively environment. It’s perfect for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. The staff are incredibly kind and efficient, making sure our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. And let’s not forget the Sake Mojito – an impressive concoction that perfectly complements the meal.

While it’s slightly on the pricier side, especially with the added 12.5% service charge, it’s worth every penny for the quality and ambiance provided. Just be mindful of this when settling your bill. Ukiyo Dublin

⭐ A Personal Take on Ukiyo Dublin:

Ukiyo Dublin is a real treasure on Exchequer Street! I popped in with friends just before St Patrick’s Day, and it was the only spot with available seats. We were immediately drawn to the lively atmosphere and the promise of fusion Asian cuisine. My friend raved about his Spiced Mule, while I found my Zombie cocktail a bit underwhelming. The Five Lamps IPA, however, was a solid choice.

We started with oysters that initially tasted odd but improved significantly with a squeeze of lemon. The Singaporean noodles were decent but could have used more seasoning. The Chicken Katsu curry stole the show – rich and flavourful, it was easily the highlight of our meal.

Service was impeccable despite our 20-minute wait for the bill, which did create some awkwardness. Yet, the vibrant music downstairs and overall vibe made up for it. If you’re in Dublin 2, Ukiyo is worth a visit!

  • Lively atmosphere and vibrant music

Wigwam

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Wigwam:

Wigwam, located at 54 Middle Abbey St in Dublin, is an absolute delight! My Sunday was transformed by their fabulous drag brunch. The queens were a whirlwind of energy and sass, delivering a show packed with jokes, dancing, and audience interaction. Their charisma was infectious, making the entire experience unforgettable. And let’s not forget the cocktails – each one crafted to perfection!

The food at Wigwam is equally impressive. I indulged in the chicken and waffles; they were crispy yet tender with just the right touch of sweetness. It’s clear that attention to detail is paramount here. The pizza also deserves a special mention – it’s genuinely the best I’ve ever had!

Last year, we rented Wigwam for our work Christmas party, and it exceeded all expectations. With cocktails flowing, ping pong tables set up, and karaoke in full swing, everyone had an amazing time. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout. Highly recommend for any event or casual visit!

The Wool Shed

⭐ A Personal Take on The Wool Shed:

The Wool Shed at The Parnell Centre in Dublin is an absolute must-visit for any sports enthusiast. Picture this: a buzzing atmosphere with screens everywhere, ensuring you never miss a moment of the action. I popped in after a show with a friend, and while the wings were cold, they were still tasty, and the garlic bread was spot on.

Despite being told it’s an Arsenal club bar, it felt like Liverpool territory during the match! The seating could be better—some odd angles downstairs—but it didn’t dampen our spirits. We ordered fries with cheese (decent but not mind-blowing) and some drinks. My friend enjoyed his pints of Guinness, and my cocktails were pretty good too—especially the Long Island Iced Tea.

The Wool Shed truly shines as a top spot to watch live sports in Dublin. Weekends get busy, but they manage to keep everything on screen. If you’re up for an electrifying game night with friends, this place won’t disappoint!

👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:

  • Great atmosphere for watching sports
  • Wide range of drinks available
  • Plenty of screens from every angle

The Workman’s Club

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of The Workman’s Club:

Stepping into The Workman’s Club is like entering a time capsule with a quirky, vaudeville vibe. I attended a Fanny Lumsden gig in the Workman’s Cellar, and what an extraordinary show it was! The intimate setting made it feel as though we were part of something truly special. Despite the bar running out of ingredients for some cocktails, the night was nothing short of fantastic.

My wife and I discovered this rare find after deciding to skip the overcrowded Temple Bar. We found The Workman’s Club refreshingly low-key yet incredibly welcoming. Grabbing a table, we ordered burgers and fries paired with local beers – all delicious and reasonably priced compared to Temple Bar. This place is definitely on my list for future visits!

However, it’s worth noting that while the atmosphere is cool and reminiscent of youthful days gone by, the state of the toilets left much to be desired. Still, the comedy acts were top-notch, making up for any minor inconveniences. For just 12 euros, it’s well worth experiencing this unique treasure in Dublin’s vibrant scene!

👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:

  • Unique, vaudeville vibe
  • Intimate and welcoming atmosphere
  • Reasonably priced food and drinks
