Finding The Yellow House was like uncovering a rare find on our Dublin adventure. After a morning exploring Rathfarnham Castle, the tea room there just didn’t cut it. So, we ventured to this charming spot and were greeted by a welcoming menu that convinced us to stay. The vegetable soup and turkey with veggies hit the spot perfectly, complemented by an incredibly polite and helpful staff.
Sunday carvery here is something you shouldn’t miss! I had lamb, which was slightly less pink than my preference but still delicious. And let’s not forget the pint of 4 Provinces IPA – absolutely delightful! Although the building could use a bit of sprucing up, it adds to the rustic charm.
One minor hiccup: a manager suggested that pubs aren’t for kids, even on a Sunday lunchtime. A bit odd since other staff didn’t mind at all. Parking can be tricky too, but their lovely coffee makes up for it!

What a fantastic experience at The Glenside Pub! Tucked away on Landscape Road in Rathfarnham, this place is a true treasure. Their Irish Breakfast is an absolute must-try for weekends – hearty, delicious, and perfectly cooked. The breakfast menu might be simple, but the quality of the food and coffee is exceptional. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit feel special.
I can’t recommend the Chicken Supreme & mash enough; it’s freshly cooked to order and bursting with flavour. Every meal I’ve had here has been delightful, thanks to the efficient service and warm atmosphere. It’s clear that the team takes pride in ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience.
We also held my Grandad’s months mind here, one of his favourite spots over the years. The homely atmosphere and top-notch Guinness made it perfect for our gathering. Plus, DJing in their function room was a breeze with their excellent setup and friendly bar staff. If you’re planning any event or just looking for a great meal, this pub should be at the top of your list!

I had the tempura prawns and chicken wings, both bursting with flavour. Rory, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to help me choose the best dishes, making my dining experience truly memorable.
The friendliness of the bar and floor staff is something you don’t come across every day. Their exceptional service added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. Despite being hyper-crowded on a Friday evening, we managed to snag a seat – pure luck! The only downside? They charge €3 for a 200ml bottle of coke, which felt a bit steep.
For lunch any day of the week, Buglers is unbeatable. Their range of toasties paired with either chips or soup is both delicious and reasonably priced. With plenty of parking and a lovely warm pub setting, it’s definitely worth visiting again!
