Best Craft Beer Bars in Dublin

Who doesn't love craft beer? It's like a work of art in every pour, with its unique flavours and aromas that tantalize the taste buds. As an avid craft beer enthusiast myself, I've scoured the web to find the hidden gems – the best craft beer bars around town.

Let me set the scene for you: it's Friday night, and you're looking for a spot where you can unwind after a long week. You want someplace that has a great atmosphere, friendly staff who are passionate about their beers, and most importantly – a wide selection of local and international brews on tap.

The good news is that Dublin has tons of options when it comes to craft beer bars. From cosy pubs tucked away on side streets to rooftop terraces overlooking stunning views – this city has something for everyone! So grab your pint glass or Stein (depending on how fancy you feel), because we're about to dive into some of the best spots in town! We'll be delving into each bar's unique qualities – from its branding & packaging to its signature drinks, getting insider tips from local experts along the way. Let's get started!

Key Takeaways:
Here's what you'll learn from reading this article

  • Location is critical when it comes to finding the best craft beer bars in Dublin. While some neighbourhoods have breweries on every corner, you can also find hidden gems off the beaten path. Don't be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone and explore some areas that might not be as popular with tourists.
  • Variety is key, so don't limit yourself to just one bar or brewery. The beauty of craft beer culture is that each establishment has its unique approach and speciality brews! Each place offers something different, make sure you visit a diverse range of pubs before deciding which one serves your top favourite ale in Dublin!
  • Customer service matters! Friendly staff who are knowledgeable about their products can make or break your experience at a craft beer bar – even if the drinks themselves are outstanding. When employees take pride in their work and genuinely enjoy helping customers navigate all the available options, it adds an extra layer of enjoyment to any evening out.
  • Ambience can enhance or detract from your experience, so pay attention both inside & outside. Some establishments may feature live music or outdoor seating for sunny days; others may go for a more intimate atmosphere perfect for quiet conversations with friends by candlelight.
  • Food pairing ideas—While many focus on beers while visiting these bars but don’t forget to experiment with food combinations — cheese boards always work GREAT as well 🙂

☝️ How we rated the services below:

When it comes to finding the best craft beer bars in Dublin, we took into consideration several key factors. Our review process was thorough and rigorous to ensure that only the top-notch establishments made it on our list. Here are the criteria we used:

  • Atmosphere: We paid close attention to the ambience of each bar. A great craft beer bar should have a cosy and welcoming vibe, with just enough lighting to create an intimate atmosphere without being too dark.
  • Selection: Of course, the selection of craft beers available had to be stellar. We were looking for bars that went above and beyond when sourcing their beers, including rare or hard-to-find brews.
  • Knowledgeable Staff: It's important that the staff at a craft beer bar are knowledgeable about their offerings and can provide recommendations based on patrons' tastes.
  • Food Offerings: While not essential for every patron, if a bar has food offerings (even just snacks), they must be well-thought-out items specifically designed as suitable pairings with their unique beer selections.
  • Tasting Flights/Options: Having all those wonderful beers demands options! So having tasting flights is always appreciated!

What Customers had to say:

Lovely staff. Nice selection of food too. Buffalo Wings and fries are top. True gems are the beers. The house beers are usually solid but there’s a whopper selection of Belgian bottled beers too. If you’re lucky, you might find one on tap.

Had been here recently twice (at the revamped Tapped), after being a regular at Porter House. Very good service, food and drinks each time. It’s simply a great place to catch up and hang out. The selection of beers on tap is awesome – perfectly named Tapped!!

BrewDog Outpost Dublin

BrewDog Outpost Dublin

⭐ Our Genuine Review of BrewDog Outpost Dublin:

BrewDog Outpost Dublin – a name you've probably heard before if you're into the craft beer scene. And let me tell you, this place is definitely worth visiting! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was transported to another world. The eclectic decor and American-style layout gave off a cool vibe that immediately drew me in.

But let's not just talk about the atmosphere – the beer selection here is amazing! Whether you're a BrewDog fan or looking to try something new, there's something for everyone. As someone who loves dark beers, I have to recommend trying their Black Heart stout. It had so many different roasted flavours going on and really impressed me as a Guinness fan.

And don't even get me started on Wing Wednesday – it lived up to all my expectations and more! The wings were some of the best I've ever had with a lovely crispy coating that didn't fall off when dipped in sauce (of which they had plenty of tasty options). The staff were incredibly friendly and quick with wing refills.

Sure, the location may be out of the way from town and prices are on the higher end for Dublin, but trust me when I say it's worth splurging every now and then for an experience like this. So gather your friends (and even your furry ones because dogs are welcome!) and head over to BrewDog Outpost Dublin for some great drinks and food in an awesome atmosphere.

What Customers had to say:

Been meaning to come here for a long time for Wing Wednesday and I finally got to try it today. The wings were incredible, I'm really into wings and they're some of the best I've ever had. They're big in size, have a lovely crispy costing and the sauce sticks to them very well. The buffalo sauce is delicious but is fairly hot, the BBQ is a lot calmer and delicious too. The wing refills were really quick and the staff were very nice, a few even took time to get to know us and chat to us about the food and drinks, they seemed genuinely interested and enjoy their job, which is great to see as a fellow barman.

I also tried their new stout, the Black Heart stout. As a big Guinness fan, I was curious. I was impressed, it was very tasty with a lot of different roasted flavours going on. Their drinks are ~fairly expensive~ even for Dublin.

What Are The Pros And Cons of Visiting a Craft Beer Bar in Dublin

So, you want to know about the best craft beer bars in Dublin, huh? Well, let me tell you – there are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to this topic.

First things first, one advantage is obviously that we get to talk about BEER! Who doesn't love a good pint now and then? Plus, Ireland is pretty famous for its alcohol so talking about it just sounds like a lot of fun. Not to mention, learning new recommendations can add some excitement to our boring old lives.

On the other hand (cue dramatic pause), there’s also the disadvantage that all this beer talk might induce quite an amount of jealousy in those who don’t live close enough or haven't visited Dublin yet. It's unfair that only some people will be able to try out these amazing bars! Also…there's always the danger of getting too tipsy and not remembering which bar you went to last night.

But seriously though (as serious as we can get while discussing something as lighthearted as beer), knowing where to find great craft beer in Dublin is essential for any true lover of malted barley goodness with intricate flavour profiles – uh. Yeah, I don't even know what half those words mean but they sound cool!

To sum it up: The advantages are obvious – tantalizing brews await us at every turn. The downsides mainly pertain to moral dilemmas due to unavailable accessibility conditions outside certain areas but overall enjoying a good cold glass without worrying about anything else seems tempting enough.

PROS
  1. Opportunity to try a variety of locally brewed craft beers.
  2. Chance to socialize and meet other beer enthusiasts in the city.
  3. A good option for those who prefer niche, unique drinks over mainstream ones.
  4. Generally low-key establishments with relaxed atmospheres.
  5. Many bars offer food pairings specifically selected to complement their beer selection.
CONS
  1. Higher prices than regular bars due to the speciality nature of the drinks served.
  2. Often crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends.
  3. Limited drink options for non-beer drinkers or those with specific dietary restrictions.
  4. Some venues may not be easily accessible by public transportation or require additional travel time within the city.
  5. Noise levels can be quite high in some places making conversation difficult.

Conclusion

Well, we've reached the end of our journey through the colourful world of Dublin's craft beer scene and boy, am I feeling tipsy with all the amazing options available. From dark and rich stouts to hoppy IPAs, there is a drink for everyone in this vibrant city. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or new to the game, I highly recommend checking out any of these bars (you know which ones) for an unforgettable night out.

But be warned: you may never want to leave once you step into one of these havens! The atmosphere alone will transport you into another dimension where time doesn't exist and every sip is pure bliss. And let's not forget about the friendly locals who are always happy to chat about their favourite brews while sharing intriguing stories from their experiences at various spots dotting the capital.

So go ahead – grab some friends, and hit up that bar on your list that's been calling your name since reading this article (If it wasn't already done!). Sample some artisanal beers whilst enjoying hearty conversation over pub fare until closing time creeps upon us like a shadow emerging in as it begins to dawn on us – delaying our ultimate hazy retreat home. Make memories that'll last sweetly—for tomorrow they'd be foggy; excited faces now blurred together by pleasures shared & stories told—these places offer nothing but flavoursome fun!

And hey don't forget — drop by this site again if you need more recommendations or have a story worth telling about discovering any hidden gem among Dublin’s finest breweries/bars… because sharing is caring after all!

FAQs About Craft Beer Bars in Dublin

Dublin has a diverse range of craft beers on offer, catering to different tastes and preferences. Irish stouts like Guinness and Murphy's are the most famous, but there is an array of other styles available such as IPAs, Pale Ales, Sours, Lagers and more. Some bars feature local brewers that serve seasonal flavors so there will always be something new to try.

▷ Are these craft beer bars expensive?

Craft beer prices vary depending on the establishment's location and style. Generally speaking, the best quality brews with unique flavours tend to be more expensive than typical commercial ones; however, it is possible to find affordable options even at some top-rated places around town. It ultimately comes down to personal preference and how much you're willing to spend for a great experience.

▷ Can I bring my food along while drinking at these spots?

Rules regarding bringing your food into pubs can differ between establishments since it depends if they have kitchens or not. However many bars deal with this by allowing customers to bring takeout from nearby restaurants which also helps promote local businesses – win-win!

▷ Do all craft beer bars have live music playing?

Live music provides added entertainment value at some locations but not necessarily all of them since everyone has different tastes when it comes to entertainment choices including ambient noise levels preferences during conversations either in small or large groups where couples might want quiet spots away from noisy gatherings.

▷ Are children allowed in these establishments?

There isn't one standard answer here although children are generally welcomed until early evening hours (and many locations do allow kids) tailoring toward adults only especially after 8 pm – Many family-friendly eateries such as restaurants open earlier before 4-5 pm typically near the city centre areas neighbourhoods compared with rowdier nightlife-centric bars further out which may require ID for entry.
