Best Sports Bars in Dublin for 2025: Victory Drinks Await! (Top Choices + a Map!)

Best Sports Bars in Dublin

I’m a massive sports fan, and there’s nothing quite like the buzz of watching a big game in a great sports bar. It’s not just about the game; it’s the atmosphere, the camaraderie, the shared cheers and groans, and, of course, the pints. Finding the perfect spot to watch the match in Dublin has become something of a personal mission for me.

On my journey, I’ve discovered that the city’s sports bars are as varied as the sports they broadcast. From cosy pubs with fires blazing during winter football matches to lively venues packed with fans for the rugby internationals, there’s a spot for every type of fan. And let me tell you, the energy in these places during a nail-biting match is electric.

One of my favourite experiences was accidentally walking into a bar packed with fans of the opposing team. The banter was top-notch, and despite the rivalry, the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Sharing stories and pints with strangers, united by our love for the game, was a reminder of why sports bars are such special places.

☝️ How we rated the services below:

Selecting the best sports bars in Dublin requires careful consideration of various factors to ensure an unforgettable game-watching experience. Here are our top criteria:

  • Atmosphere and Fan Engagement: We value venues that buzz with excitement, where the energy of the game is palpable. A great sports bar should foster a sense of community and camaraderie among fans, making every match an event to remember.
  • Quality and Variety of Screens and Audio: Clear views from every angle and crystal-clear sound are non-negotiable. We look for bars that offer multiple, well-placed screens so fans don’t miss a single play, along with top-notch audio systems for an immersive experience.
  • Food and Drink Selection: A wide variety of quality food and beverages enhances the game-day experience. We prefer sports bars that offer a great selection of drinks, including local craft beers, and a menu that goes beyond standard pub fare, catering to all tastes and preferences.
  • Location and Accessibility: Convenience is key. We prioritize sports bars that are easily accessible by public transport or have ample parking, ensuring fans can focus on enjoying the game rather than worrying about how to get there.
  • Service Quality: Friendly, efficient service rounds off the perfect sports bar experience. We appreciate staff who are not only quick on their feet during busy game nights but also share enthusiasm for sports, adding to the overall atmosphere and enjoyment.

Where Every Night is Game Night: Dublin’s Unbeatable Sports Bars!

☝️ Our team, alongside family and friends, poured their hearts into exploring every corner of Dublin to bring you the ultimate guide to the best sports bars. From lively atmospheres to the crispest screens, we’ve tested them all to ensure your game day is unbeatable.

The Wool Shed

One of the great things about The Wool Shed is its always happy atmosphere, whether you’re there to watch sports or just for a bite. People gather in large groups throughout the bar and spend hours enjoying a meal and drinks without feeling rushed or stressed out. On some occasions, especially during World Cup seasons, this pub truly comes alive with loud music playing prior to games and deafening cheers from fans as teams compete – an incredible atmosphere unlike any other!

Moreover, their food menus offer some delicious snacks that seamlessly accompany your beverage of choice – crispy BBQ chook, cheesy garlic fries, medium chicken wings served with barbecue sauce etc. All these are cooked up fresh right when you order them which definitely compensated us for the slow waiter service at times; it was lukewarm nachos that were on the bad side but I guess nachos can’t have everything allright?

The last thing worth mentioning here is their cocktail menu full of crazy mixes such as margaritas (our favorite one) and strawberry daiquiris guaranteeing their patrons good times over shared laughs in a cozy yet elegant setting perfect for group hangouts! Nothing draws people closer together than having fun while watching sport events consequently making The Wool Shed a must visit spot if you’re ever around Dublin!

River Bar

First of all, River Bar is conveniently located in the heart of Dublin. The walk to nearby attractions like Temple Bar and other pubs are just a few minutes away! If you want to go out for dinner or drinks after a night out, then this bar is worth considering as well. It’s got great food- we had smoked and fresh cod served with chips, salad and mashed peas – plus it also serves different beers so you can explore new flavors here too.

Second, the service at River Bar is excellent; friendly staff, accommodating atmosphere which includes upbeat rock music from 90s to 2000s – what more could one ask for? The wings were amazing: crispy yet crunchy and saucy– definitely better than any other wings we’ve tried over Ireland thus far! Furthermore they serve cocktails so if your prefer them over beer or wine there’ s something here for every palette.

Finally ,the price point makes this an even better visit (it could be cheaper though). Overall visiting River Bar was definitely worth my time ; I highly recommended this spot whether it’s a place simply to have drinks with friends on its own or paired with sightseeing around Dublin after hours!

The Square Ball

The Square Ball is a simply wonderful place to enjoy the best of Dublin nightlife. Every time we visit, it’s bright and lively with good beer and tasty dishes at reasonable prices. The roasted chicken is especially delicious! On top of that, there are lots of board games available for customers to play free of charge as well as table tennis ad pool tables in the upstairs room. Whether you want something laid-back or more active, The Square Ball has something for everyone!

On top of all this, I was recently surprised by just how thoughtful the staff were when we visited them after my boyfriend’s family had suffered a loss. Without being asked they provided food to all their grieving relatives offering an incredibly kind gesture which was so much appreciated at such a tough time. As if these incredible services weren’t enough; they also offer happy hour specials on drinks and food – meaning guests can come away feeling satisfied without breaking bank accounts.

If you’re looking for a great night out with friends or colleagues then I highly recommend visiting The Square Ball – every aspect from services down to atmosphere really enhances any occasion making it worth your while!

Murray’s Bar

Murray’s Bar is an amazing place to visit. The atmosphere of this venue has a special vibe that’s both relaxed and exciting with the Christmas decorations around; it feels like you’re in New York City! From friendly service, delicious food, live musical performances and pub classics, there’s something for everyone here at Murray’s. I had visited for breakfast which was served up quickly and went down a treat. My friend also ordered a coffee which cost less than expected since everything else on the menu was reasonably priced.

The beer garden located outside the pub gives room to over 50 people so no matter what time of year it is, you can enjoy its ambience either inside or out when the weather allows it. There’s also options available for vegetarians – plus they offer cauliflower wings – while other items including pizza as well as fish & chips are cooked to perfection making sure every guest leaves happy.

For those looking for a memorable night out or simply just wanting to end their stay in Dublin on good note then Murray’s Bar should be your destination choice! Delicious food combined with festive atmosphere mixed alongside fantastic staff make this truely one-of-a-kind establishment worthy of all praise!

The Camden

Great for atmosphere and good for meeting people!

The Camden is a great spot to hang out with friends and have a great night. The atmosphere when I’m there is amazing, with the upbeat music from its DJ’s, plenty of room to dance, and huddle around tables talking about your day over drinks. Their cocktails are delicious as well as their food – you can sit on the balcony in the summer enjoying some delicious nachos or burgers looking at the pitch black night sky colouring all Dublin’s lights. When it’s not too crowded during week days they will prepare some specialties like chips, burgers and fish&chips so that you don’t need to worry about finding something else if you stay late in The Camden.

The service is really friendly; if you ever need anything they are just a few steps away trying very hard to get everything right and straight quickly – always helpful with an ear-to-ear smile waiting for us at every table after ordering each drink or bite served. All this being said clearly means that they do proper quality control judging by previous experiences making sure everyone enjoys it immensely without any issues or complaints getting those compliments we all deserve no matter what kind of event we may be attending here including concerts etc…

Overall The Camden has been one of my favourite places since I visited because it has such a great energy combined with reasonable prices, friendly staff and some of the best snacks along with vast selection beers – Irish craft beer preferably which gives it even more unique feeling in comparison other pubs around Dublin 2 centre district filling almost any expectation making this place worth visiting multiple times definitely giving us 5 stars out of 5 rateable thumbs up judgemental attitude admired by others these days making fond memories ahead permanently

Hill 16 Pub

This review is about Hill 16 Pub in the Dublin area, a bar with over 300 Google reviews and a 4.1 star rating out of 5. I had the privilege to experience the atmosphere for myself recently on their Brazilian party night!

The food was really good; it felt like we were actually in Brazil! The service was friendly and helpful, and everyone seemed to be having fun too! The atmosphere was incredible; it felt like being at our own private celebration. Everything from music selection to decorations complemented each other well.

I highly recommend visiting Hill 16 Pub if you’re looking for an amazing night filled with delicious food, wonderful service, and lots of fun activities. It’s definitely worth visiting-you won’t regret it when you leave feeling refreshed and energized!

The Sin Bin

The Sin Bin is a great place for anyone looking for delicious food and drinks in the Dublin area. The staff are friendly and welcoming and make you feel right at home whenever you visit them. They provide amazing Irish coffees, tasty snacks, and their classic fish & chips. In addition to these enjoyable treats, they even stay open late on Sunday nights which makes it an attractive spot when other places may be closed.

Not only do they provide excellent service but they also take time to get to know customers! On particular occasion I went there with friends while watching the World Cup games this summer; not only did we have great seats so that we could fully enjoy our sports experience but bartenders were knowledgeable about different cocktails from all over – even Canada!

Altogether it’s hard not to recommend The Sin Bin after experiencing the quality of their food options, friendly staff members, cozy atmosphere, as well as staying open on Sunday night – making it a prime destination when planning your next evening out in Dublin!

The Trinity Bar & Restaurant

The Trinity Bar & Restaurant is an Irish-American Pub that does a great job of blending the best of both worlds. The interior has big booths and a long bar, making it comfortable to relax with friends or colleagues alike. They have good prices on their beer selection but its more for enjoying different styles than being out to get hammered – perfectly suited for people looking to enjoy themselves without any excessive partying. Outside they also boast a lovely outdoor beer garden that serves as the perfect spot during warm summer nights.

Aside from drinks and atmosphere, The Trinity Bar & Restaurant offers excellent food at very reasonable prices! I’ve heard amazing things about the Bangers and Mashed in particular, although everything here seems well worth trying! A bonus treat is given when you bring your loyal canine companion – water bowl and treat provided for those special dogs in strollers or leashed up outside!

The Trinity Bar & Restaurant offers something almost unprecedented – an upscale pub feel where you can both enjoy quality drinks with friends or family as well as savour traditional Irish inspired dishes. All at great prices with welcoming staff who go out of their way to make sure everyone feels welcome.. Whether its late weekdays catching up on old friendships over craft beers in their patio or Sunday afternoon rugby matches shown inside around lunchtime, this place won’t let you down if you’re looking for top-notch service paired with delicious stress relief beverages and eats!.

The Bar

The Bar is a great spot right next to Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin. Not only does it serve great Guinness sponsored beverages at a competetive price and offer unique options such as having your picture served on top of your pint, but also provides an unforgettable entertainment experience. With its huge selection of TVs throughout the bar making it possible to watch sports matches in high definition or any other show or movie you can think of with friends or family; The Bar makes for an unforgettable visit regardless if you’re just looking for some relaxing time or are up for partying all night long!

Overall, The Bar is worth visiting as it provides more than meets the eye when first stepping inside: not only does one get amazing drinks, food and TV access but also an enjoyable atmosphere created by the friendly staff that really goes out their way to make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable! Last but not least one doesn’t have to worry about mobility impairments either given that there are stairs leading down towards The Bar – which provides easy wheelchair access due to the fact that there’s no elevator at this point. All in all therefore, I’d surely recommend paying a visit whenever stopping by Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre!

The Back Page

The service at the Back Page may not be perfect, but its unique character certainly makes up for it. For starters, their food undeniably stands out amongst other eateries in Dublin—their pizza is nothing short of exquisite with a generous topping of fresh ingredients. Furthermore, they offer vegetarian options sure to satisfy anyone’s palate. Plus, there’s also plenty of activity available within The Back Page – they have an outdoor beer garden that has become quite popular in the summer months and even an active pool table area!

On top of all these features, what makes this place extra special is its atmosphere and people. The customer service is accommodating and friendly though out your visit; waiters are attentive without being overly obtrusive thus making for a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. What really seals the deal about The Back page are their prices: you can enjoy excellent value for money on delicious dishes without breaking your bank balance!

My Final Thoughts

I’ve spent countless evenings cheering and groaning through every play, pint in hand, in some of the most vibrant spots around Dublin. These best sports bars in Dublin have become more than just places to watch a game; they’re where memories are made, and where every shout, cheer, and sigh is shared with fellow fans.
