Fear not, my fellow foodies, because we’ve got you covered.

As someone who has spent countless hours scouring Dublin’s streets in search of the ultimate burrito fix, I can tell you that this is no easy feat. With so many options to choose from and so many opinions floating around online, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out where to start. That’s why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do the legwork (and taste-testing) for you.

So what makes a great burrito? Is it all about the size or are flavour combinations key? Are certain toppings non-negotiables or is anything goes fair game? We’ll dive into these questions and more as we explore some of Dublin’s top spots for grabbing a tasty tortilla-wrapped treat. Get ready for some serious mouth-watering goodness ahead!

Key Takeaways:
Here’s what you’ll learn from reading this article

  • Dublin has a surprisingly diverse range of burrito options, from traditional Mexican to fusion and vegetarian.
  • The best burritos in Dublin tend to be found at small independent eateries rather than large chain restaurants.
  • Price points for burritos vary widely across Dublin, with some options being more affordable than others.

☝️ How we rated the services below:

When it comes to finding the best burritos in Dublin, our review process is quite thorough. Here are some of the criteria we consider:

  • Flavour: The most important aspect of any burrito is its flavour. We evaluate each one based on the quality and balance of ingredients, as well as the overall taste.
  • Texture: A great burrito should have a satisfying texture that complements its flavours. We pay attention to factors like how crispy or chewy the tortilla is, how tender the meat is, and whether there’s enough sauce to tie everything together.
  • Size: While we don’t believe that bigger always means better when it comes to burritos, we do think they should be substantial enough to fill you up. We look for options that strike a good balance between size and value.
  • Authenticity: Burritos may not be an Irish dish per se, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be authentic. We seek out places where you can find genuine Mexican flavours and cooking techniques.
  • Atmosphere: Part of enjoying a meal involves having a pleasant dining experience overall. That’s why we take into account things like restaurant decor, service quality, and general ambience when reviewing places for their burritos.

Tolteca Suffolk Street

Tolteca Suffolk Street

⭐ An Unfiltered Assessment of Tolteca Suffolk Street:

As a true lover of Mexican food, I am always on the hunt for authentic and satisfying options in Dublin. Tolteca Suffolk Street was suggested to me by a friend, and from the moment I saw their menu and set-up, it reminded me of a Chipotle in the U.S. But what sets them apart? The food tastes even better at Tolteca! This place is simply fantastic!

The staff were outstanding with their efforts to create our dream burritos – they explained all ingredients available to us and guided us through every single option until we created exactly what we wanted. The chicken burrito was out of this world delicious, packed full of flavors that just burst in my mouth with each bite.

Although I loved everything about Tolteca Suffolk Street, there was one thing that really bothered me: Their continued use of red plastic baskets – let’s make sustainability an everyday habit people! Apart from that though (and it’s not too significant), nothing else could detract from the overall experience at this wonderful restaurant.

I definitely plan on returning soon as well as recommending it to anyone who loves Mexican food or just wants a fresh dining experience packed with fun-filled flavours. Thank you so much for making my first visit unforgettable!

Boojum Abbey Street

Boojum Abbey Street

⭐ An Unfiltered Assessment of Boojum Abbey Street:

Boojum on Abbey Street is an absolute must-visit when you’re in Dublin. As someone who follows a vegan diet, I was blown away by the number of options available at this Mexican restaurant. The staff were incredibly helpful and even informed me about their student discount offer, which added to my already great experience there.

I ordered the tacos with Salsa verde, tomato and corn salsa, jalapenos, sauteed peppers & onions plus chickpea crunchum (which was absolutely superb). Trust me when I say that it’s one of the best tacos I’ve ever had! And if you’re looking for something more filling then give their burrito bowl a go. The combination of Mexican savoury rice + black beans + salsa verde + sweetcorn & tamato + chickpea crunchum provided an explosion of flavours in my mouth.

The fact that they also have amazing Quesadillas made everything all the more better. And don’t forget to try out their freshly prepared churros with either dulce de leche dip or chocolate hazelnut dip as well – pure heaven! What’s more? Their staff are always ready to help out and accommodate whatever request comes their way. They packed extra food for me even though I wasn’t able to finish what I had initially ordered.

Bell Burritos

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Bell Burritos:

I ventured into Bell Burritos on a chilly evening, hoping to warm up with some spicy Mexican food. What I found exceeded my expectations – the best chilli con carne I have ever tasted! The ground beef was tender and succulent, cooked in a rich tomato sauce that oozes flavour. But what really made this dish stand out was the kick of heat from the juicy jalapeño peppers sprinkled generously throughout. They had me reaching for water every few bites, but I couldn’t resist going back for more.

The rest of the menu is just as impressive. There are an array of burritos, loaded with fresh ingredients and packed full enough to satisfy even the biggest eaters. If you’re feeling adventurous why not try one with their fiery Applewood smoked chicken? Packed into homemade flour tortillas alongside rice beans and salad, it makes for a real treat.

But it’s not just about great food here – Bell Burrito’s modern decor gives off trendy vibes that make you feel comfortable right away; green leaves lining around several corners making its atmosphere unique in its own way. Service is friendly too: staff went above and beyond to ensure drinks were topped up without being intrusive.

Zambrero on Hatch Street is truly an amazing place that offers delicious food, great customer service and an overall fantastic experience. As a regular customer, I always get the burrito bowl and it never fails to satisfy my taste buds whilst staying true to healthy options. The staff are super friendly with Rodrigo being particularly attentive towards customers’ needs. It’s wonderful to have a place like this that lives up to its reputation of being the go-to choice for lunch during work hours in Dublin.

The services they offer go beyond just serving tasty Mexican treats since they allowed us to throw a party at their venue at such short notice! Their kind gesture made our day, helped us organize everything flawlessly and left everyone happy, satisfied and wanting more. The way Tom handles the crowd so efficiently made me admire his management skills; he sure knows how to make every guest feel special! To top it off, Niall was extremely accommodating as he went out of his way by letting us use their space despite all odds stacked against them.

The restaurant is fantastic which boasts high levels of hygiene keeping in mind these unusual times we are currently experiencing globally. The ambiance looks really nice too as you sit down indulging into your delightful meal! But one thing that stood out amongst other places is their student deal – Burito/Bowl plus free drink (which I saw too late).
