Caffè Nero
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Caffè Nero:
Caffè Nero, the cozy coffee spot nestled on Oliver Plunkett St, is a hidden gem in Cork. As soon as you step foot inside, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and a warm ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. The staff here are top-notch – I had the pleasure of being served by Jason, who was an absolute delight and went above and beyond to make sure my experience was exceptional.
Now let’s talk about the main attraction – the drinks and snacks. Caffè Nero certainly doesn’t disappoint in this department! Their coffee is simply divine, and their pastries are not only delicious but also fairly priced. But what sets them apart is their abundance of vegan options! As someone with dietary restrictions, it can be quite challenging to find tasty treats that cater to my needs. However, Caffè Nero has nailed it by offering plenty of delectable choices for us plant-based enthusiasts.
While there were many aspects to love about Caffè Nero, I must mention some areas for improvement. Firstly, a carefully curated playlist of lofi or relaxing music would enhance the overall experience and create a more immersive atmosphere. Additionally, investing in tiny shelves could help optimize seating space while tidying up books scattered around.
Despite these minor suggestions for enhancement, there’s no denying that Caffè Nero is worth visiting if you crave quality coffee accompanied by mouth-watering pastries. With its convenient city centre location and extended opening hours (notably perfect for early birds), it’s become my go-to place for starting off my day right or indulging in an evening stroll with my dog.
So next time you find yourself wandering through Oliver Plunkett St., make sure to treat yourself to a delightful stop at Caffè Nero – where great service meets amazing beverages and scrumptious eats!

Lab 82 Coffee
⭐ A Personal Take on Lab 82 Coffee:
Lab 82 Coffee, oh how you stole my heart! From the moment I stepped through your doors, I was transported to a whimsical wonderland of caffeine-fueled heaven. The decor is truly something out of a fairy tale, an eclectic mix of vintage charm and quirky adornments that I have never seen before. It’s a feast for the eyes and fuels the imagination even before my first sip.
Let’s talk about the coffee – it’s simply divine. As a South African myself, Lab 82’s home-brewed concoction reminds me of what we call “moer-koffie”. It packs a punch and jolts you awake in the most glorious way possible. And let me not forget to mention Richie, their gracious host who made our visit all the more memorable with his warm hospitality.
But Lab 82 is not just about coffee; their food offerings are equally as impressive. The Eggs Benedict were perfection on a plate, while their full Irish breakfast satisfied all cravings with aplomb. The service was prompt and attentive, with staff who were genuinely friendly and professional.
Oh, did I mention dessert? My taste buds danced with joy when faced with an impeccably presented cake that tasted like pure bliss. Not too heavy on icing or sponge but flawlessly balanced in every bite.
In conclusion, Lab 82 Coffee is an absolute must-visit if you find yourself in Cork. Whether you’re looking for extraordinary coffee experiences or delectable dishes to satisfy your hunger pangs, this place has got it all covered.
