The service here is impeccable; the staff are both friendly and efficient. My partner’s iced Vietnamese latte was an exotic twist that we thoroughly enjoyed. Although the café can get quite noisy when busy, this seems to be a common trait in Dublin’s vibrant spots. Despite this minor quibble, the overall experience remains top-notch.

The coffee here is top-notch, easily the best in the area. I’m particularly fond of their oat milk lattes; they nail it every single time, unlike many other cafes. And let’s talk about those toasties—crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, just perfect for a quick bite.

Southbank
⭐ An Unfiltered Assessment of Southbank:
Southbank, located at 79/80 Grove Rd in Harold’s Cross, Dublin, is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is a delightful blend of cool and cosy, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal or coffee break. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive; Faye deserves a special mention for her sweetness. The food? Simply divine! Their chips are the best I’ve ever had—so flavourful and perfectly cooked. I was particularly impressed with their seasonal pumpkin soup during Halloween and the delicious sourdough bread.
The venue itself is spacious enough to accommodate a bustling crowd, yet retains an intimate feel. While it does get busy, especially during peak times, it’s worth booking ahead to secure your spot. The music adds to the vibrant vibe, and people-watching through their large windows is a treat. Although the service can be a tad slow when it’s packed, the warmth of the staff more than makes up for it.
Coffee aficionados might find the Americano decent but not exceptional; however, everything else on the menu more than compensates. Prices are on the higher side—€3.90 for a flat white and €13.90 for mixed eggs—but considering Dublin’s standards and portion sizes, it’s justified. Southbank has become my go-to place whenever I crave comfort food in a welcoming setting. Have you been there yet?
