Slieve Bloom Laois (Baunreagh) – Mountain Biking Trailhead

Slieve Bloom Laois (Baunreagh) is an impressively maintained mountain biking trail it. It has everything a rider could want: beautiful and varied terrain, short and sweet trails for those inclined to shorter rides with great rewards for effort on the more challenging routes; brilliant red, blue, black and some new Jailbreak tracks that are tough but rewarding.

On my first ride I had all three weather conditions in one weekend; sunny patches followed by rain and snow within an hour! But nothing stopped me or hindered my enjoyment of the scenery as did not feel like a chore navigating around and climbing up/down hillsides due to the mix of views and well-prepared pathways. All grades of riders can be accommodated too – beginner’s will find easily accessible sections while expert cyclists have plenty of technical features to challenge them – plus there's even ebike friendly territory ! Last thing worth mentioning is if you're thinking about taking “the downhill challenge” don't underestimate it –I certainly was launched out of my saddle twice! Overall it's worth visiting this renowned Mountain Biking Trailhead for your next adventure into nature.
