O’Connell’s Bar Galway

⭐ A Personal Take on O’Connell’s Bar Galway:

O’Connell’s Bar Galway, what a gem! From the moment I stepped foot into this lively establishment, I was captivated by its charming Irish pub feel. Nestled in the heart of Eyre Square, this place truly exudes character and warmth. But that’s not all – brace yourself for a fantastic surprise as you venture out to their spacious outdoor area adorned with stylish decor and plenty of seating options.

What struck me most about O’Connell’s Bar was the eclectic mix of patrons it attracted. Unlike other pubs catering primarily to young crowds, O’Connell’s seemed to have found the sweet spot in attracting an older demographic while still maintaining its vibrant atmosphere. It was refreshing to see people from different age groups coming together, dancing away to tunes spun by an incredible DJ during my visit.

And let’s not forget about the food! In addition to their mouthwatering pizza offerings on site, they also collaborate with Dough Bros and Prátaí who provide some seriously scrumptious grub fit for any discerning palate.

Step inside O’Connell’s Bar Galway and be transported to a world where old school charm meets contemporary comfort. Whether you choose to indulge in their indoor space or revel under the open Irish sky out back whilst devouring delectable pizzas- one thing is certain: paying them a visit is an absolute must when exploring Galway.

The Dáil Bar Galway

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of The Dáil Bar Galway:

The Dáil Bar Galway, what can I say? This place is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of Galway. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a lively atmosphere and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a traditional Irish pub experience, look no further.

Now let’s talk about the food and drinks – they are simply sensational! I had the pleasure of trying their range of cocktails, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The Zombie cocktail stole my heart with its unique combination of fruity and tangy flavors. It was like sipping paradise in a glass.

If fruity isn’t your thing, don’t worry because they have something for everyone. The Peach Cobbler cocktail was sweet and refreshing, perfect for those who enjoy lighter drinks. And of course, there’s nothing quite like a classic Mojito on a summer evening.

But it’s not just the cocktails that shine at The Dáil Bar Galway; their food is equally impressive. I couldn’t resist trying their chowder and toasted ham and cheese sandwich – absolute perfection! Good quality food at reasonable prices? Sign me up!

To top it all off, this place is child-friendly with service that comes with a smile (and topped off by excellent Guinness). You won’t feel like just another tourist here; it has an authentic vibe that makes it truly special.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Galway craving fantastic cocktails paired with delicious food served in a warm and inviting atmosphere, make sure to pay The Dáil Bar Galway a visit. Trust me; this is one spot worth experiencing firsthand.

Taaffes Bar

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Taaffes Bar:

Taaffes Bar, what a hidden gem in Galway! As soon as I stepped foot into this truly Irish pub, I knew I was in for an authentic experience. The warm and friendly clientele instantly made me feel at home, and the lively atmosphere added to the charm of this place. But it’s not just the ambiance that makes Taaffes Bar special; their drinks are top-notch too!

I had my first ever Jameson’s Irish Whiskey from Ireland itself at Taaffes Bar, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight. The bar staff were knowledgeable and passionate about their drinks, ensuring every sip was perfect. And if whiskey isn’t your thing, fear not! They have a wide selection of beverages to choose from.

But what really impressed me about Taaffes Bar was their exceptional customer service. We mentioned we wanted to visit Kilbeggan Distillery but weren’t sure how to get there. Rhiannon, one of the staff members, went above and beyond by connecting us with a local taxi driver who happily agreed to take us there and back. It’s these small acts of kindness that make a place truly standout.

And lastly, let’s talk about the live Irish music sessions here – they are sensational! We visited on two separate nights and both times were absolutely memorable. The talented musicians created an electric atmosphere full of energy and joy. If you’re looking for an authentic trad session experience in Galway, Taaffes Bar is definitely the place to be!

In conclusion, you mustn’t miss out on experiencing all that Taaffes Bar has to offer during your time in Galway. Its genuine Irish vibe, the amazing hospitality, and outstanding trad music sessions set it apart from other bars. The next time I’m in town,I won’t hesitate to visit again. This little pub is truly something special!

The Quays Bar and Restaurant, a name that holds so much excitement and anticipation. From the moment I stepped foot into this fabulous establishment in Galway, I knew it would become my favourite place in the city. With its spacious layout, inviting atmosphere, and an extensive selection of alcohol options, The Quays offers a true haven for locals and tourists alike.

One cannot help but be captivated by the live music that resonates through every corner of this charming pub. It’s as if each note carries with it the soul of Ireland itself. The talented musicians create an ambiance that is nothing short of magical while enjoying a pint or two of their exceptionally poured Guinness. And let’s not forget to mention the incredible staff who go above and beyond to make your visit memorable.

As for the food offerings at The Quays, while there may have been some limitations due to staffing issues on my visit, it did not dampen my overall experience. The mussels were absolutely divine – bursting with freshness and flavour that left me wanting more. Sadly though, I must admit that the fish and chips failed to meet expectations as they lacked texture and taste.

Despite these minor hiccups with the food menu, The Quays compensates with its unique décor dating back 400 years – adorned with church arches, pews, confessionals, and stained glass windows throughout. It truly is a feast for both your eyes and senses.

In conclusion, the delightful atmosphere combined with exceptional service makes The Quays Bar & Restaurant a must-visit destination in Galway. Murphys Bar

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Murphys Bar:

Murphys Bar, nestled in the heart of Galway on High Street, is a true gem that captures the essence of Irish charm. From the moment you step inside this recently renovated establishment, you are transported back to a time when pubs thrived with character and camaraderie. With over 374 glowing Google reviews and an impressive rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, it’s clear that Murphys Bar has something special to offer.

The staff at Murphys Bar deserve a standing ovation for their warm hospitality and genuine friendliness. They serve up pints of Guinness with pride, ensuring that every sip leaves you feeling like you’re tasting divinity itself – I swear even God approves! The bar has been refurbished beautifully, maintaining its old-world ambience while adding cozy outdoor seating for those sunny days.

Now, here’s where my only gripe comes in – there’s only one ladies toilet which also doubles as the disabled toilet. Considering how busy this place can get (and rightly so), I do worry about whether one ladies/disabled toilet will be sufficient going forward. However, aside from this minor inconvenience, everything else about Murphys Bar hits all the right notes.

Although food is not currently available at Murphys Bar, trust me when I say that their staff more than make up for it with their delightful personalities and excellent service. So grab a pint and soak in the good atmosphere; there’s no better way to experience Galway than by spending an evening at Murphys Bar – where tradition meets superb hospitality!
