If you’re a fan of Charles Dickens, then we have the perfect event for you!
On Monday December 12th, Ballyroan Library will be hosting ‘Dickens in Dublin’. This one-man theatre show is written and performed by Laurence Foster. It’s an immersive experience that brings to life the moment when Charles Dickens visited Dublin back in 1858 – it was quite the occasion with people queuing up to catch a glimpse of him!

This free event is open to adults only so come along and get ready for some time travelling! You’ll relive his performance at the Rotunda Concert Room which he found difficult to reach due to all the crowds. It promises to be a unique evening as Laurence Foster takes on multiple characters using his acting skills. He’ll bring alive not just Charles Dickens but also Daniel O’Connell, Thomas Moore and more – who knows what they got up while they were here?!
We think this sounds like an incredible way of getting closer than ever before into understanding Victorian London as well as experiencing Irish culture from that era. Plus it’s totally free so why not take advantage? We guarantee you won’t regret giving this one-man show a go!
